Doc, I’ll Have A Breast Enlargement Please

People say money can’t buy you happiness but isn’t that what poor people say to make themselves feel better? I mean, if I think clearly about this I would say that if I had money I would spend on myself and the people I care about. The basis of that happiness would be the fact that I can afford to make myself and those around me happy, or at least happier than they are now.

So since plastic surgery is quite an expensive operation and people go through with it surely it can’t be such a bad thing? We all live to increase our happiness and if a wo/man decides to augment their body in some way because it would make them happy then, why not?

I know some may argue that it’s because God made you the way you are and you should be happy about it but that’s just like saying to someone with a major ailment should be happy because that’s how God intended it. Some people suffer major psychological discomfort from having a part of their body which they feel could and should be changed.

So what’s wrong with plastic surgery?

For one, the process is just plain nasty. If you’ve ever actually seen someone go through the process of a face lift, lipo suction or the like you would know what I’m talking about. Only then did I realise that humans really are pieces of meat; the outside is definitely better looking than the inside….trust me!

Second, there is great risk not only to your general health but your appearance as well. Have you seen plastic surgery mis-haps? Big lips, lop-sided breasts? Plastic surgery isn’t something you can just wipe off like make-up if you don’t like it. It’s serious business!

Third, our bodys change as we age. Can you imagine an old woman with sagging skin and pert breasts? How odd would that look?

Also what type of example are they setting for the younger generation? That if the outside isn’t how you want it to be just pop under the knife and change it? Can you see what type of slippery slope we’re heading towards here? Scary thought.

Nah, I don’t want to take risks with my already perfect body. It may not be physically perfect but it keeps me alive and I can move and breathe freely so it’s perfect enough for me. In that case doc, I think I’ll pass on that breast enlargement.

Money can buy you happiness; love is harder to purchase.

I wouldnt waste money on plastic surgery personally BUT i do spend £10 a month on contact lenses (cheap i know) and my glasses cost me about £170 . . . not so cheap, and i'll get a new pair next year.

OK, so plastic surgery aint the same as contact lenses, jeans or other fashion items . . . BUT if little things like that make people happy imaging the buzz of gettin a good operation for a few grand.

Actually, I had a breast REDUCTION. You try living with a double f cup!! And honey, at 22, I held the same beliefs. Funny how that changed by the time I hit 47..

Double F? Hand some over!

Well I hope I'll be married and have my kids by 47 so it shouldn't matter so much.....

I've sen girls with breast enlargements and girls with breast reductions - it made them happy.

My aunt passed away due to cancer caused by her breast enlargements - admittedly they were done in the 70s - but it's not something I'd risk.
